Viewing the transparency grid reveals a white rectangle behind the graphic. I also like to turn on the transparency grid when I am working with white backgrounds. With Transparency Grid enabled, as shown, you can see that the bird has a white rectangle behind it, and that white background will go with the graphic if you save the file as an SVG or export it as an SVG. In the View menu turn on Overprint Preview. The layer order should be Dieline (on top), Opaque White, label (on bottom). To do that use Object > Path > Offset Path. You will probably (but check with the printer) need a bleed on the fill. Set the fill to Overprint in th Attributes panel. Fill with the Opaque White swatch and remove the stroke. Put the dieline on its own layer.ĭuplicate the Dieline layer then give the duplicate layer a name like Opaque white. You want to see no plain white areas in your label since the opaque white fill should print everywhere.įor the dieline makse sure the path has no fill, the stroke uses the CutContout colour, and the stroke is set to Overprint in the Attributes panel. It might be useful to make it a different colour so you can see what is process white and what is spot white. It does not have to be white since it will print as a spot colour. Create a new swatch, call it something like Opaque White, and make sure it is a spot colour. Assume nothing and, if you cannot be sure, deal with another printer or hire an intermediary you can both trust.įor the opaque white fill I would create the path by duplicating the dieine, putting it on a new layer, then adding bleed using Object > Path > Offset path. You need to comunicate clearly with the printer so they know what you want and you know how to provide the files. The glitter for the text will probably require a spot colour as well. All black will be transparent, and grays are a mixture (the fade). All areas of the gradient containing white will be opaque. (Palette Options) Select Make Transparency Mask. But hopefully she just means I need a vector path around the "head" as well as the outer kiss-cut line. With BOTH shapes selected, go to your transparency palette, and in the upper right, click on the little arrow. But basically the stickers are just real life faces, with text around them. I would highly appreciate help here, as I have already paid for the order and I am not really sure what I can do! The images are far too complex to fully vectorise IMO, atleast for me. When she says vector, does she mean the image has to be fully vectorised with each colour converted into shaped layers, or does she just mean that the image needs its own separate "vector path line"? Which I have since found out will make the colour less vibrant? She said something like the image needs to be vector otherwise there can't be a white ink base. I am ordering them on transparent vinyl stickers, but the printer person is Chinese, and her English is quite bad. I also have the image, which is a flat, rasterised image. (Upgrading to newest version of Jasper: 6.Ok so I have my text which should be automatically vector right? Like forcing the transparent image to be invisible? Is there any way to avoid this "behavior"? The PDF document looks fine in Adobe Reader on Android after this modification. In PDF editing tools (like Acrobat Pro) this transparent image can be captured and then moved, removed or set to background. On Android, the Acrobat Reader seems to display this image on top, in red color, and it obscures the graphic behind it. Presumably used to position the image with user data. (GIF loaded: net\sf\jasperreports\engine\images\pixel.GIF), (The Reader 17.0.* displays the PDFs correctly)ĭisplaying the same PDFs in Adobe Reader on all other platforms (Windows, iOS) with newest Reader Versions and with another PDF readers works without any problems.Ī deeper investigation revealed that the reason is based on a transparent image, which was added by Jasper We noticed this problem for the first time with the Abrobat Reader Version 92, and it still exists with the current version 18.35. Recently we faced a problem with Adobe Reader on Android tablets: instead of the embedded images a. We will be working with two main panels, these are the Gradient and Transparency panels. We're generating PDF Reports via JasperReports Framework (Version 6.3.1 with iText 2.1.7). Step 1 - Open Gradient and Transparency Panels.
